...or children's day as it is celebrated in Japan on 5th May every year. For the occasion, the juniors put on a demo in the form of a team competition for their parents. In exchange, the parents baked cake, what a great deal!
As ever, the juniors were super focussed and demonstrated a new skill they've been learning recently: how to encourage each other. They continued to demonstrate the "how to move on from when we make mistake" skill, another great technique to use inside and outside the dojo...
The weather was balmy and we had cake outside.
Thank you juniors, thank you parents!
The juniors helped the Sheffield Shodokan Aikido Club celebrate its 10 year anniversary in our dojo with superb demonstrations.
Well done you guys, you shined with your focus and your effort!
In the evening, the juniors joined the whole club for our movie premiere. There was some truly international food cooked by some great chefs - thank you parents for the doughnuts, plantain, beef rice, samosas, gluten free cakes etc etc!
If you missed the movie, or want to see it again, here it is on on our Youtube channel:
The filming has finished, the soundtrack has been added, the movie is made...

The juniors will kick off the event with a performance at 2pm in the dojo.
